Annatto also known as bija, baixa, axiote, achiote, urucu, pumacua, roucou or onoto is a seed from the Axiote tree (Bixa Orellana)
Its uses vary - as a food colorant, a textile dye, an insect repellent, sunblock or for bodily decorative purposes
